Hi, I’m Anahita, and I specialize in helping people find freedom from OCD, anxiety, and the pain of unresolved trauma.
“If everything around you seems dark, look again, you may be the light.” That Rumi quote has always stayed with me, because I believe that healing often begins by recognizing that your strength—the light—is already within you. My own journey with mental health began early in life, and it’s what led me to become a therapist. I know how powerful the right kind of support can be, and I’m here to offer you just that: expert guidance grounded in compassion, experience, and evidence-based care.
I specialize in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related disorders, including social anxiety, phobias, trauma, agoraphobia, and panic disorder. I also support clients navigating co-occurring depression, life transitions, and grief and loss. I work with both teens and adults and welcome clients from all backgrounds.
If you’re like many of my clients, OCD and anxiety may be taking over your life. You might find yourself stuck in endless mental loops, checking, ruminating, researching, seeking reassurance, or avoiding situations that trigger fear. Maybe you feel controlled by intrusive thoughts that feel terrifying, confusing, or even shameful. You might be battling perfectionism, constantly trying to do everything "just right," only to feel like it’s never good enough. I want you to know this: I work with this every day. I get it. And you are not alone.
I specialize in treating OCD with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment that helps break the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. ERP isn’t talk therapy. It’s a structured, collaborative, and active process where we slowly retrain your brain to respond differently to fear. It’s powerful, and it works. I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you build psychological flexibility and reconnect with what truly matters, and I use EMDR and trauma-informed approaches when past wounds are fueling present anxiety.
My work is rooted in collaboration, safety, and respect. I’m not here to judge or fix you. I’m here to walk with you, challenge you when needed, and support you every step of the way. I believe that therapy should be a place where you can say the unsayable, feel fully seen, and still be met with warmth, steadiness, and real tools for change.
Over the past six years, I’ve dedicated myself to this work through advanced training in ERP, CBT, ACT, EMDR, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma therapies like CPT and EFIT. My background includes a Master's in Psychology and Clinical Counseling from Brandman University. I am bilingual in English and Farsi, and offer sessions in both languages.
Whether you're struggling with OCD, anxiety, trauma, grief, or the pressure to hold it all together, I want you to know: there is a way through. Healing doesn’t mean the absence of pain; it means developing the strength to face it, transform it, and reclaim your life.
If you’re ready, I’ll be here for you.
