If intrusive thoughts feel frightening or shame-inducing—if rituals, checking, reassurance-seeking, or avoidance have quietly taken over parts of your life—you’re not alone. Many of the clients Tricia works with come to therapy feeling exhausted, embarrassed by their thoughts, and afraid of how others might react if they spoke honestly about what’s happening in their minds.

Tricia specializes in helping adults break free from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, hoarding, and other compulsive behaviors that keep people stuck. Her clients often struggle with intrusive thoughts related to harm, relationships, morality, contamination, or responsibility, along with rituals or mental compulsions meant to create relief—patterns that can slowly erode confidence, relationships, and quality of life.

What makes Tricia’s work especially meaningful is that she brings both deep clinical expertise and lived experience into the therapy room. She has personally experienced a postpartum OCD crisis at a time when these symptoms were poorly understood and often misinterpreted. That experience shapes her practice today: with zero judgment, deep compassion, and a firm belief that intrusive thoughts are not a reflection of who you are. Clients often share that they feel safe telling Tricia the thoughts they’ve never said out loud before.

Tricia has spent over a decade specializing in OCD and anxiety treatment and has advanced training through NOCD, where she worked with individuals facing some of the most complex OCD presentations, including Harm OCD, Relationship OCD (ROCD), Sexual Orientation OCD (SO-OCD), Scrupulosity, and Contamination OCD. She is extensively trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Behavioral Activation, and specialized hoarding interventions.

Therapy with Tricia is active, collaborative, and focused on real, sustainable change. ERP helps clients face feared thoughts and situations while resisting the rituals that reinforce anxiety. ACT supports clients in unhooking from intrusive thoughts and building psychological flexibility. When trauma, depression, or compulsive behaviors are also present, Tricia integrates additional evidence-based approaches to support healing without losing focus on OCD recovery.

As a neurodivergent clinician with lived experience, Tricia brings an insider’s understanding of what it feels like to be overwhelmed by your own mind—and what it takes to move toward freedom. Clients often describe her as warm, engaged, direct, and deeply validating. She balances compassion with accountability, helping clients take the brave, sometimes uncomfortable steps that lead to meaningful change.

If you’re ready to reclaim the parts of your life that OCD, anxiety, or compulsive behaviors have taken from you, Tricia offers a free 15-minute online consultation so you can ask questions, share what’s been hardest, and see whether working together feels like the right fit.

Many clients come to Trisha feeling ashamed of their thoughts or afraid of how others might respond. She understands this fear intimately, both as a clinician and as someone who has lived through a postpartum OCD crisis before these symptoms were widely understood. Her personal experience profoundly shapes how she practices today: with zero judgment, deep compassion, and a commitment to creating a space where clients can speak the unspeakable and still feel seen, safe, and understood.

Trisha has spent well over a decade specializing in OCD and anxiety treatment. She holds a Master’s in Counselor Education from Central Connecticut State University and has advanced training through NOCD, where she worked with individuals facing some of the most complex OCD presentations—including Harm OCD, ROCD, SO-OCD, Scrupulosity, and Contamination. She is extensively trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Behavioral Activation, and specialized hoarding interventions.

Beyond OCD and anxiety, Trisha works with trauma, addiction and compulsive behaviors, hoarding disorder, and depression, especially when these occur alongside obsessive-compulsive patterns. She is known for her ability to help clients navigate presentations that don’t neatly fit into a diagnosis, and she approaches these with clarity, structure, and genuine care.

Therapy with Trisha is active, collaborative, and grounded in real, sustainable change. ERP helps clients face the fears they’ve avoided, while resisting the rituals and safety behaviors that reinforce anxiety. ACT teaches clients to unhook from intrusive thoughts and build psychological flexibility. Behavioral Activation and TF-CBT support healing when depression or trauma are part of the picture. Narrative Therapy helps clients re-author stories shaped by fear, shame, or past hurt. Together, these approaches help clients build resilience, courage, and self-trust.
